Here’s another one I wrote for some friends on Fet —– I have a good friend turning 30 soon, a good friend turning 30 soon-ish, and a good friend turning 50 soon. Got me to thinking. When I was in college, I was in therapy for family reasons, a theater major “because I learn more about what it is to be a human through stories than I do psychology or hard sciences” (that was my standard answer, and yes, I know it was pretentious), and heavily involved in a close-knit religious community which encouraged emotional honesty. So I basically thought about myself and my emotions ALL THE TIME. It sounds exhausting now, but obviously, it was what I needed then. Don’t judge. My religious wrestlings, [read more...]
I turned 42 this year, which means I am now The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything (follow the link for the geeky reference). So for my birthday party, I gathered a few local kinkster friends with a very specific set of criteria: I had to believe they wanted good things for me I had to believe they would not be offended or bothered by sexual play (many kinksters, especially BDSM players, only play with pain outside their primary relationship, but they don’t include overtly sexual acts) I had to believe they would say “no” to my request if they were uncomfortable in any way (not everyone will) I had to believe they would enjoy running their hands over my [read more...]
I wrote this for a few friends, but thought I’d share it with you too. I’m turning 42 on September 18. It’s going to be awesome because that means I’ll be The Answer for a year (geek reference here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrases_from_The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy#Answer_to_the_Ultimate_Question_of_Life.2C_the_Universe.2C_and_Everything_.2842.29 ). And any year that you’re The Answer to the Ultimate Question has to be a great year. So, that’ll rock. But … I was born on my father’s 28th birthday, so he would have been turning 70, if he were still alive. I grew up thinking of it as “our birthday”, but this will my 20th birthday I’ve celebrated without him since the heart attack that took him at age 50. So. That’ll suck. And on Sept 24, I have a settlement hearing for [read more...]

This weekend is my 41st birthday (Sunday, the 18th). Last year, for my 40th birthday, I made a ruckus on my blog, my name was in lights (literally) at the Northwestern-Rice football game, I had a professional photo shoot, and I spoiled and pampered myself all month celebrating. This year, on the day before I turn 41, my hubby and I are joining my mom in her cozy little living room, where she is renting The Big Chill and buying us pizza. A bit different. Apparently, my thoughts about turning 41 are, “I don’t care about turning 41, but did I do everything I wanted to do while I was 40? You know, I kind of wanted to watch The Big Chill again – it’s [read more...]
At last. At long long long long last, my final blog post announcing a photo set for sale from my 40th birthday celebration photo shoot. This is the last picture set I am putting together, and it’s my favorite. (note about self-management: I knew if I posted this set earlier, I’d quit and never finish the other ones. I have to save the best for last or I lose steam.) I had such grand aspirations for the shoot: 4 outfits (if you count “naked” as an outfit), and with each outfit, I had: * a way to masturbate * a way to look toppy * a way to look submissive * a way to be oral * and unique poses for that set By the [read more...]
During my 40th birthday celebration photo shoot, of course there were times when I totally lost track of whatever it was I supposed to be doing and just burst into laughter… because that’s just who I am. Thankfully, my photographer thought those moments were worth capturing. The pictures for sale are 4.5 times larger than these preview sample pictures, so there’s amazing detail. BIRTHDAY LAUGHING 34 pictures. 2048 px. $10. These 32 hi-res pictures are of me in all three outfits, plus some naked, cracking myself up. Not quite able to look threatening while flipping someone off: … or laughing at someone else’s joke: … or feeling awkward after hog-tying myself and not-quite-completely flipping myself over (yes, they were refusing to help me until she [read more...]
This afternoon, I told “Office Crush” that it was my birthday, and that I was going to the Rice-Northwestern game (I grew up by Rice and went to Northwestern, so I didn’t actually care who won). We had a lovely chat, then started to play. The sex, as always with him, was smokin’ hot, but this time, moments after he came, in the space that normally contains a “Whew!”, he breathed a deeply grateful, “Go Cats!” Cannot. Stop. Laughing. P.S. Northwestern won 30-13. Clearly, Rice should blame Office Crush.
New pretties Although my 40th birthday isn’t until Saturday, today is my big present: a photo shoot with Vivian Ronelle (http://vivianronelle.com/), erotic photographer extraordinaire. Friday, I went shopping for new lingerie. I haven’t bought new lingerie in years, because although I love to dress up, I keep taking lovers who prefer just plain naked, so my limited lingerie choices have been more than sufficient. On a practical level, I am going to be arranging the pictures into packages to sell. So yes, today is a career investment. But on an emotional level, even if I never sell a single picture, I am still giddy at the thought of celebrating my sexuality, and my body, at age 40, unashamed of my non-Hollywood shape. I look forward [read more...]
I just got an email that had “Happy Birthday” as the subject line, so I figured it would be a nice note from a blog reader who didn’t puke after reading my obnoxious birthday season post, or a caller who’d seen my “Mature” listing obnoxiously announcing that I’m turning 40 in September. Ohhhhh no. I have to admit, it’s better than that. It was from Call Envy, a top-rated Flirt on NiteFlirt, with consistently great feedback. And she’s a peach on the speaker forums, always coming up with great ideas and helping other people. It’s clear she loves her job. Thank you, Call Envy! She made me a birthday girl picture!! It’s like my own custom card! How adorable is that? And the tone of purple [read more...]
